Rawalpindi—While addressing monthly meeting of Shura Hamdard here former Naval Chief Admiral (Retd.) Iftikhar Ahmed Sirohey and other speakers said that Pakistan’s democratic system negates basic norms of democracy.
The current system is designed to keep the able away from the leadership and assemblies. They said, system creates hurdles in the lives of the people. They are poverty-stricken and never think about the change.
The speakers said, our country is blessed with lots of resources and manpower. It can make rapid progress if these resources are fully utilised and corruption is curbed.
The speakers stressed the need for reforms in Judicial and Education systems.
The speakers included Syed Mansoor Aqil, Dr. S. M. Zaman, Prof. Niaz Erfan, Sh. Mukhtar Ahmed, Naeem Akram Qureshi, Sanaullah Akhtar, Dr. Farhat Abbas and Tariq Shaheen.
