Hafizabad—Several steps are being taken to give “New Look” to the city and to improve service delivery to the people to resolve their problems promptly, District Coordination Officer Muhammad Ahmad Rajwana declared here.
Addressing first meet the press at the Press Club, the newly posted DCO Muhammad Ahmad Rajwana said that he has set service delivery, provision of better healthcare and promotion of education as his priorities. He said that he, with the consultations and priorities of the members of national and provincial assemblies, has advised the heads of all departments to improve service delivery.
All government institutions are meant to serve the masses and to mitigate their sufferings and it was imperative for all government employees to be responsible and work above self to take positive steps to resolve their problems.
He said that everyone should work above self for the betterment of humanity as there is nothing impossible and added “where there is will there is way”. Referring to haphazard encroachments in the city, he said that old Sabzi Mandi on Alipur Road is being converted into a Model Bazar and all rehries will be shifted in it.
He further said that all encroachment from the city thoroughfares would be removed in a phased programme.
Replying to a question on the delay of making the Trauma Centre functional despite the fact its building has been completed over a two years ago and precious equipments are rusting, he said that he has already started efforts to make the centre functional within a month and fix responsibility for non-installation of equipments in the centre.
He said that the DHQ Hospital and its emergency, Outdoor Patients Department would be made a model and to improve the provision of adequate medicines to the patients. All filteration plants and tube wells would be made functional and they would be monitored by the special committees of the citizens for their proper functioning.
He further said that DPO has already making efforts to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the city roads and added he and Heads of all departments would work in unison to remove the menace of encroachments. Referring to the pitiable conditions of different roads in the city, he assured that these would be properly repaired as an earliest. He assured that there would be visible change in the city within a month.
He said that he would welcome positive criticism of media and called upon them to pin point any loop hole and proposals for improving civic services, provision of better healthcare and to improve standard of education.
