Art exhibition on Iqbal’s poetry at NPC
Adviser to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui on Wednesday inaugurated noted artist Aslam Kamal’s paintings exhibition on Iqbal’s poetry at the Aiwan-e-Quaid, Nazriya Pakistan Council (NPC), F-9 Park. There are 28 paintings by Aslam Kamal who is known the world over for his pictorial description of Allama Iqbal’s poetry while a total of over 50 paintings and works of illustration of Allama’s kalam are put on display.
The painting exhibition of Allama Iqbal’s works is part of the programmes being organized by NPC in connection with the death anniversary of Hazrat Allama Iqbal (April 21, 1938) and would continue until April 30, 2017. Speaking on the occasion, Irfan Siddiqui said visiting NPC and participating in its programmes was always an enlightening experience. NPC keeps re-enkindling love for two great personalities rather leaders of the Muslims of the sub-continent Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Mohammad Iqbal. Both of them, he said, are our past, present and will remain our future too.
The two great leaders of the ‘Pakistan Movement’ gave us courage, hope, resolve against odds and values like perseverance and steadfastness. Iqbal, he said transformed the crowd of Muslims into a nation with his eternal poetry.
Irfan Siddiqui also highlighted the fact that there were quite a large number of students from various schools, colleges and universities and it was imperative they received and followed Iqbal’s message in letter and spirit. Gauhar Zahid Malik, Executive Secretary of the NPC, Members Executive Committee of the NPC Basharat Jazbi and Faridullah Khan were also present on the occasion. Earlier, Anjum Khalique Director Media briefed the guests on the exhibition and other programmes highlighting Iqbal’s life and works.
