Lahore—Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana has said the incumbent government is utilizing all resources for rehabilitation of special people besides providing them equal opportunities to grow in the society.
Addressing a ceremony at Institute of Rehabilitation for disabled here on Tuesday, he said special people have many abilities and we have to play collective role in making them responsible citizens.
Rafique Rajwana said the government has started various programmes to support disabled people and all educational facilities are extended to educational institutions for them.
“Quota has been fixed for disabled in government jobs and focus is being made on their technical training,” he said adding that they had to promote hope and constructive thinking in the society and remove disappointment.
The governor lauded the role of Institute of Rehabilitation for disabled and said that it was very satisfying that the institution was giving technical training to the disabled and providing “Qarz- e-Hasna” so that these people could support their families.
Rafique Rajwana visited the institute and also talked to the disabled persons. Pakistan Society for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled (PSRD) President Pervaiz Masood briefed about the working of the institute and about its future objectives.
