Lahore—Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has written a letter on Women Protection Act to religious scholars on directions of CM Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday as the letter has stated complete assurance to eradicate reservations expressed by the religious scholars.
The letter has stated complete assurance that Punjab government can never pass a bill based on the teachings against Islam; however the government has recognised the fact that any initial step taken by humans has never been the final verdict. It also stated that Punjab government has taken a step towards their responsibility with respect to women rights in the province. The Punjab govt has decided to seek proposals from scholars in this regard and that religious scholars should express their reservations if they consider any provision of the act is against the teaching of Islam.
