Govt to provide best transport facilities to common man

Islamabad—Chairman Steering Committee Orange Line Train Khawaja Ahmed Hassan said mission of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government was to provide best transport facilities to common man through Orange Line Train like projects.
Talking to media he said it was a public welfare project initiated by the PML-N government and would be completed within stipulated time frame.Commenting on decision of Lahore High Court, he said work on those 28 sites had already been stopped due to a stay order since January this year. “We have full trust in the courts and we would honor the decision, however, our legal teams are examining the detailed judgment,” he added. He said, other than those sites, work on remaining route was underway speedily as about 40 percent construction work had been completed.
Khawaja Hassan said there would be no change in the approved design of the project, however, we would take further consultation and advice if and when required. He said Chinese funding for Orange Train Line was specific for this project. About 2.5 lac people would travel on this train daily, he added.
Meanwhile, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha Saturday said that the government was taking up the matter of Indian involvement in Pakistan effectively. Talking to a private news channel, he said policy of the government was very clear and all diplomatic forums were being used to raise this important issue.
He said Pakistan has a strong defence and intelligence system and would not let India succeed in its nefarious designs against Pakistan. Mohsin Ranjha said Pakistan has always opted for dialogue with India on all issues but India was not ready to sit and hold talks.—APP
