Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Wednesday said federal government was striving to improve education system in the country and making all out efforts to promote religious tolerance and interfaith harmony.
Addressing a prize distribution ceremony of Loh-o-Qalam School System here at Gulistan-e-Fatima Colony Dhoke Hassu, he said there was need to promote interfaith harmony to ensure equality, religious freedom and protection of rights of the minorities in the country.
Although, the country was facing challenges but the PML-N government would steer the country out of these crisis as all out efforts were being made, he said adding the government was taking effective steps to meet the challenges.
The Minister said the government was working with all seriousness to resolve issues and hoped that PML-N government would be able to improve the situation within a short period.
He further said, the government took various steps to promote interfaith harmony in the country.
The Minister said some anti-state elements wanted to weaken the country by promoting sectarianism and hate.
He said, religious scholars should demonstrate unity to strengthen the country.
Sardar Yousaf said, Islam preached peace, religious tolerance and equality. He stressed on the need to educate people through teachings of Islam and basic human rights. He said, the government was taking measures to control sectarianism.
