Govt spending billions on health, education facilities: Tanvir

Sheikhupura—Federal Minister for Defence Production and Science & Technology Rana Tanvir Hussain has said the incumbent government is spending billions of rupees to provide basic facilities to people especially in the fields of health and education. Talking to journalists here on Friday, he said the government was providing all facilities to the new generation to make progress through getting quality education.
He said the target of a fast-paced progress could only be achieved through education promotion and making a healthy society. He said spending billions of rupees by the government for completion of development projects was unprecedented in the history of Pakistan. He added opponents of the government were only creating hurdles in the way of development of the country.
Rana Tanvir said when Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif came to power, the country was passing through serious crisis. However, the federal government, in collaboration with the Punjab government, launched a number of power projects which would end electricity shortage in the country soon.
The Minister said the PML-N government was fulfilling all promises it had made with the people during the election campaign. In reply to a question, the minister said the electronic and print media should gain all information about Panama leaks and inform people about those whose names had appeared in the leaks.
He said the PML-N government would complete its term and the opponents would have to face humiliation. He said the government and the army were on one page in the war against terrorism, and they would not take rest till elimination of all terrorists from the country.
Earlier, the minister along with Punjab Parliamentary Secretary Pir Ashraf Rasool, PML-N District President Muhammad Arif Khan Sindhila, District Ushar and Zakat Committee Chairman and President PML-N Labour Wing Punjab Syed Mushtaq Hussain Shah visited the passport office here. The Minister announced to double the staff, computer system and a separate counter for women in the office.—APP
