Badin/Sukkur—Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah has stated that the government will be responsible if former president general (Retd) Pervez Musharraf refuses to return to the country. Shah said that he hoped no compromise will be made over democracy.
Talking to the media, Khurshid Shah opposed government claims regarding Musharraf’s travel saying that the Supreme Court had stated that the decision to allow Musharraf to travel abroad rested with the government.
Shah stated that he is not concerned if the decision for allowing Musharraf to leave the country was taken due to a deal, due to pressurizing or simply just get rid of the issue, adding that the gov-ernment will be solely responsible if Musharraf’s decides not to return to the country.
Shah sarcastically expressed that Musharraf’s oxygen in the hospital was immediately taken off after the court’s decision.
