Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Monday said that resources worth billions of rupees have been provided to beautify the historic city of Lahore and to ensure immaculate state of cleanliness.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held here to review progress on different ongoing development schemes in the city.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that these resources were provided to arrange different facilities for the citizens as the provision of best facilities is their right.
The departments concerned were required to perform this responsibility with utmost dedication and commitment so that the people could enjoy best facilities and services at their doorsteps.
The Chief Minister expressed his strong indignation over the non-implementation of the model devised for different aligned services attached with the development schemes and made it clear that now the things will not happen like that.
He directed to work day and night to provide best facilities to the people and the results should be obvious, adding that he always provided administrative support to the departments.
“I will not tolerate any delay with regard to the provision of different facilities to the people and the officers failing to perform will be sent packing home, he said and added that now, lame excuses or leniency won’t work”.
He said that an effective and feasible plan should be designed and presented within next few days, concluded the chief minister. MPA Ramzan Siddique Bhatti, Lord Mayor Lahore Mubasher Javed, Deputy Mayor Ijaz Hafeez, DG LDA, DC Lahore, CEO LESCO, MD Lahore Waste Management Company and concerned officials attended the meeting.
