Hafizabad—Minister of State for Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar has lashed out at dharna politics of PTI Chief Imran Khan and his allies and declared that the present government was not frightened from such ugly policies and would strive for the progress and prosperity of the nation.
Addressing Press Conference here in the Press Club Hafizabad Sunday afternoon, she said that had the PTI Chief not indulged in dharna politics last year, the present government would have achieved more development targets during the year. She declared that due to vision of the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the government would continue its efforts to raise living standard of the common man, eliminate hunger, disease and unemployment and Insha Allah PML-N would be victorious in the next general elections like overwhelming success in the AK, Gilgit and Baltistan and local bodies elections.
She said that during the past eight years development projects worth Rs. 9575 million have been executed in the district including Rs. 1893 million in education sector including Special Education, Rs. 460 million in health sector which included upgradation of Pindi Bhattian hospital, setting up of Trauma in Hafizabad and provision of 15 ambulances, Rs. 20 billion on metalling of road network, Rs. 730 million on the embankment of River Chenab, Rs. 610 million on different schemes of Public Health Engineering Department.
Replying to a question regarding the pitiable conditions of sewerage system in the city particularly in Garhi Awan area, she said that an integrated plan has been started which will be completed during the current year at a cost of Rs. 200 million, which would resolve the long standing problem of the city.
Referring to a question regarding increase in the prices of medicines, she said that prices have been stabilised for maintaining quality of medicines.
