Govt initiates robust steps for edu uplift: Rajwana

Governor Punjab and Chancellor Rafique Rajwana said that govt has taken tremendous steps for promotion of education in country. Educational budget has been doubled and special attention is being paid towards higher education sector by improving standards in teaching and research.
Governor expressed these views during a meeting with Prof Dr Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan in a seminar organized by National Accountability Bureau Multan. Vice Chancellor said that the university has shown extra ordinary improvement in HEC ranking by jumping from 51st to 11th position in a short period of one year due to administrative, academic and fiscal reforms.
As many as 100 faculty members have been appointed as a result 8 selection boards. Hiring of professionals in non-teaching departments has also produced good results. Mega construction projects of Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Agricultural College and Sports Complex delayed since many years have been completed. The Vice Chancellor apprised the chancellor that Study Park and Day Care Center which were inaugurated by him have been completed and are fully functional. Governor also appreciated the conduct of mega PEEF event and participation of Mian Muhammad Shebaz Shairf, Chief Minister Punjab in the event.
