Governor Balochistan Amanullah Khan Yasinzai has said that provincial government is taking steps to provide facilities in hospitals for treatment of brain related diseases.
He said this while inaugurating 18th Neurology conference in Quetta on Saturday. The Governor said that poor people living in far-flung areas of the province cannot buy medicines of brain related dieses medicines due to high prices. He urged doctors to come forward and help poor and needy patients.
Governor said that doctors should utilize all available facilities in government hospitals to ensure treatment of patients. Over 140 delegates from all over the country were in attendance.
During the vital event, leading neurologists exchanged experiences to deal with brain disorders. PIMS neurology, psychiatry ward gets makeover. The governor noted that there were certain difficulties being confronted by the government in providing sufficient funds, but assured the participants that every effort was being made to help the people of the health sector.
‘It is heartening to note that now CT Scan Machines and MRI facilities, including ventilators, are available at hospitals,’ said the governor, adding that people of the province, particularly of the far-flung areas, were not in a position to undergo expensive treatment of brain disorders. Yasinzai urged neurologists to come forward and help the needy people, assuring them that the government was ready to provide all possible cooperation in ensuring a healthy society in the province.
