Lahore—The Punjab Government has devised a plan to counter the protest on July 21 of Young Doctors Association (YDA) and to ensure uninterrupted treatment to patients in public hospitals.
All medical superintendents (MS) and Principles of medical colleges are directed to make ensure presence of all doctors including supervisors, House officers and PGRs in OPD, indoor and operation theaters besides to provide absentness lists to health department.
An official privy to this development said on the condition on anonymity that Punjab government has introduced central induction policy for post graduation in medical universities and teaching hospitals to ensure transparency at the time of admission. A web based online application system has been introduced with the name of Punjab Residency Program he said adding that more than 1100 applicants have applied and 730 slots have been identified in public teaching hospitals for FCPS training.
Spokesman of YDA Punjab said that the cruel central induction policy imposed on the young doctors by the Punjab Government in order to limit the aspirations of young doctors for PG Training and we consider it usurping the rights of young doctors.
