Govt determined to end ‘Patwar culture’ from Punjab

The Punjab government is taking solid steps to eradicate Patwar Culture from the province by establishing Computerized Land Record Centers in all Tehsils of the Punjab. It was stated by the Punjab Revenue Minister Ata Muhammad Manika after assuming charge of his new portfolio. The minister said that the Punjab Government had achieved another landmark by completing that groundbreaking project of public service.
He said that people would get rid of Patwari culture in the province through Land Record Management Information System and wrong registration of land, corruption, fraud and forgery would be eliminated with the passage of time.He said “We are proud of vibrant leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif who was restlessly working hard for the betterment of his people.
The computerization of millions of acres land in Punjab is a revolutionary step taken by the CM Punjab as it has made it easiest for the citizens to go to one place and get computerized copies of their mutations, registration or Fard (ownership document)in a short time without any hurdle. Earlier the people had to visit Patwari’s office repeatedly for these documents.
An effective monitoring system will be introduced to enhance the efficiency of Land Record Centers and remove existing bottlenecks” He said that land grabbing in Punjab would not be allowed anda strict policy would be adopted to evacuate the state lands from illegal occupants. Soon a fruitful move would be initiated in this regard under CM’s instructions, he added.
