Govt to build society based on social, economic justice: Khalil Tahir


LAHORE : Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs (HR&MA) Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said that the provincial government is determined and working hard to build a society based on principle of social and economic justice.

He said that as a part of its ambitious growth and development agenda the government is investing in the socio economic capital of the province and in doing so it is on track to attain a growth trajectory that brings a qualitative change in the lives of the people especially that of the poor and marginalized sector adding that to achieve these goals our government has been observing the highest standards of transparency, economy and efficiency in public spending.

Khalil Tahir stated this while addressing at 90 Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam on the 16th, 17th and 18th balloting of the RIMS, Amanat scheme here on Friday. Chairman PRA. Dr Raheel Siddiqui, senior session judge of appellate tribunal PRA Raja M.Arshad, representatives of World Bank and GIZ were also present there.

The Minister HR&MAs in his remarks congratulated PRA in introducing this innovative and exciting way for generating taxes and spreading tax awareness amongst the masses. He made an obsessive call to keep up the good work and further innovate such tax generating ideas by conducting workshops and tax clinics to educate the people of Pakistan.

Dr. Raheel Siddiqui while addressing the ceremony has said that the success of RIMS can be gauged from the fact that more than 600 restaurants are now connected with RIMS in a very short time period.

He further said that the credit of this tremendous success goes to Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Minister Finance Dr Aisha Ghous Pasha. I would like to add that PRA has been introducing new ways of engaging the taxpayers with measures such as “Tax Clinic” to approach new sectors for Maximum tax generation.

At the end of event the minister announced the prizes for the winners of Toyota Corolla, Honda City, Honda CD-70 and Umrah Tickets. He also cut the Christmas cake on this occasion to express the solidarity with Christian community.
