Governor inaugurates Daewoo Terminal Thhokkar Niaz Baig

Pakistan’s largest transport company, Daewoo Pakistan Express, will start its new state-of-the-art bus terminal at ThokkarNiaz Baig, Lahore from Friday, 31st March 2017.
In this regard, a formal inauguration ceremony was held today at the new bus terminal in ThokkarNiaz Baig presided by Malik Muhammad RafiqueRajwana, Governor Punjab as the Chief Guest. The Honorable Governor Punjab inaugurated the new terminal and cut the ribbon for the first bus departure from the terminal.
Addressing the gathering at the occasion, the Governor Punjab said that over the years, Daewoo has revolutionized road transport and logistics in Pakistan by setting new standards and re-defining the concept of bus travel and cargo movement in the country.
He further said that Daewoo has become a household name in Pakistan and is an integral part of the lives of millions of people who travel inter-city frequently or take the urban transport buses in Lahore and Multan. Also speaking at the occasion, Daewoo Group President in Pakistan, Mr. Faisal Siddiqui said that Daewoo’s commitment to invest further and expand business in Pakistan is best reflected in this most modern terminal complex which is capable of handling much increased passenger-count and bus arrival/departures.President Daewoo Express, Mr. Chang In Park, said that the new terminal marks the beginning of a new era for Daewoo Express and we are very confident that the move to this terminal will be mutually beneficial tothe public, the Government and also Daewoo.
Bus arrivals and departures at KalimaChowk Lahore have been relocated to ThokkarNiaz Baig with effect from Friday, 31st March 2017. However, KalimaChowk terminal shall remain operational as a shuttle service point, cargo center, and Daewoo cabs hub. Free of cost shuttle service shall be provided to passengers (both ways) between KalimaChowk and ThhokkarNiaz Baig every 30 minutes.
The Korean company, Daewoo Pakistan Express Bus Service, which started operations in Pakistan 19 years ago from KalimaChowk Lahore, today operates the largest fleet of 356 inter-city buses and 250 urban buses in the country, and also has the biggest service network reaching 58 cities in Pakistan. Daewoo is also operating the Multan Metro Bus Service and the Lahore Feeder Bus Service (Speedo).
