Golf: Slattery takes final round lead in stormy Shenzhen

Beijing—Englishman Lee Slattery turned in 34 to open up a one-shot lead in the final round of the Shenzhen International on Sunday before stormy weather suspended play.
Slattery had finished his third round and notched up two birdies to start the final round three shots behind leader Soomin Lee, the PGA European Tour said on its website.
South Korean Lee was five ahead as he stood on the 17th tee in his third round at the Genzon Golf Club but suffered a double-bogey and three dropped shots in the first eight holes of his fourth round.
Alexander Levy made three birdies as he ended round three. He had two birdies in his opening eight holes to sit one shot behind Slattery at 13 under.
South Africa’s Brandon Stone, bogey-less since his third hole in round one, turned in 34 to sit alongside Lee a further shot back, one clear of Bradley Dredge, Scott Hend and Joost Luiten.
Play was suspended in the afternoon. Bad weather meant six-and-a-half hours of play was lost over days one and two.—AFP
