Gold & Gems Art Promotion Council of Pakistan (GGAPCP) has called upon the government to simplify the procedure of export of gems and jewellery from the country which has come down to below 1 percent during last four years as compared to the corresponding period. From year 2013 to 2017, only 100 applications seeking permission for export of Jewellery or stones were filed with the authorities concerned while prior to this period more than 100 cases were used to be filed within a year period. GGAPCP President Muhammad Ahmad and General Secretary Rana Amir Saleem raised this issue at a meeting with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Director Lahore Usman Qureshi in a meeting here on Wednesday. Administrator Gems & Jewellers TDAP Ahsan Bashir was also present on this occasion. GGAPC Pakistan leaders said that the present government had created numerous problems in the way of gems and jewellery export while Pakistan can earn sufficient foreign exchange by exporting gems in which our country is rich.
