Geelani returns to Srinagar today

Srinagar—Senior pro-freedom leader and Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani will return to Srinagar from New Delhi tomorrow, said a spokesman on Tuesday. He said Geelani will return to valley after spending two months in New Delhi.
“After staying (for) two months in Delhi for medical treatment, Geelani sahib is recovering gradually but still feeling weakness,” said Ayaz Akbar.
Geelani left for Delhi on 6th Feb for medical checkup, following which he was admitted at MAX hospital on 10th March after he complained of severe chest pain.
“Geelani Sahib will arrive (at) Srinagar airport at 1pm,” said Akbar, adding the octogenarian leader will take complete rest, as advised by the doctors. He said Geelani has been invited to a conference at the OIC by Secretary General. “…We have received an invitation letter from the OIC but we informed OIC organizers that due to non availability of travel documents Geelani Sahib won’t be able to attend the said Conference.”—GK
