In 2011, a Government Degree College was announced for Wahi Pandhi , a major area of kachho, in the Dadu District of the Sindh Province, by the then Education Minister Pir Mazhar ul haq, during the previous tenure of PPP government. The construction work was started immediately but after the elections of 2013, the work was stopped, while only half of the college building structure was constructed. No one in the government ha ever since taken notice of the plight of the students of the area, despite the fact that same PPP is ruling the Province. Due to non-availability of college building, the College started functioning in the Government Boys High School Wahi Pandhi premises in 2011, hoping that it would be shifted to its new building. The students of Wahi Pandhi College have to go to Johi College, about 30 km away, for education and examinations.
Moreover, the High School building is insufficient to house the students of both the college and the school and so they remain in constant turmoil affecting their studies. We request the new CM Sindh and the concerned authorities in the Education Department to look into the matter and take necessary steps for the completion of the building of Degree College Wahi Pandhi at the earliest, as education deserves to be the top priority of the government.
