GCCI, TDAP to mutually work for trade promotion

Lahore

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is endeavouring to strengthen the trade sector of the country through assistance and facilitation to the exporters and the issues being faced by the industry would be resolved in line with the government policies. Mian Riaz Ahmad Director General Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) stated this while addressing the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).
The DG said that Expo Pakistan 2017 would provide a massive opportunity to the business practitioners to get themselves engaged with the local and foreign buyers for the improvement of their business and trade. Talking about the refund claims of the exporters, the DG said that TDAP have already taken up this issue at the high level for early resolution.
Upon a question raised by the President GCCI that foreign importers are reluctant to visit Pakistan due to security concerns, the DG said that we have to depict the soft image of the country by maximum participation by TOP Brands and especially in the wake of sheer competition in the worldly markets, our exporters also need to compete through quality and standardization of their products which was duly appreciated and committed by the former..
Earlier, President GCCI Syed Ahmed Taj presented the welcome address and informed about the activities of GCCI in perspective of national and international trade. Chairman Cutlery Association Wazirabad Mr Kamran Abbas Bhutta and large number of exporters were present on the occasion. DG TDAP was assisted by Director TDAP Muhammad Irfan and Ms. Ameera Pervaiz, Director TDAP.—PR
