Quetta—Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif on Tuesday announced gallantry awards for Capt Rooh Ullah and Naib Subedar Muhammad Ali who participated in an operation against the attackers of the Quetta police training academy Monday night, an Inter-Services Public Relations said.
Capt Rooh Ullah, an elite Army Commando, was martyred in the Quetta police academy attack. He was awarded the Tamgha-i-Jurat, whereas, Naib Subedar Muhammad Ali was awarded the Tamgha-i-Basalat, ISPR said.
Capt Rooh Ullah was a resident of Shabqadar and his funeral prayers will be offered in his hometown.
An ISPR statement said the two men neutralised one suicide bomber and cornered another, helping a large number of police recruits escape before he exploded his suicide vest.
Capt Rooh Ullah died in the attack, whereas Naib Subedar Muhammad Ali sustained injuries and was admitted to Quetta’s Civil Hospital.
