In occupied Kashmir, a meeting of the Islami Tanzeem-e-Azad Jammu and Kashmir held in Srinagar with its Chairman, Abdussamad Inqilabi in chair.
The participants of the meeting strongly condemned the fresh arrest spree and raids by Indian troops on the residences of party leaders and described it frustration of the authorities.
They also denounced raids on the residence and office of the party Chairman, Abdussamad Inqilabi, adding that such cheap tactics could not suppress the ongoing liberation movement. They said that the liberation movement would be taken to its logical conclusion at all costs. The meeting appealed to the world community and international human rights organizations to take notice of the Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory and help release the illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India and the territory.
The participants of the meeting also welcomed the statement of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan that Kashmir was a core issue between India and Pakistan and the two countries should resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute through dialogue.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) in a statement issued in Srinagar congratulated the PTI Chairman for victory in the parliamentary elections of the country.—KMS
