Rawalpindi—Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Saturday foiled a terror bid by arresting four suspected terrorists and recovering explosives from their possession in Wah Cantt area.
According to CTD spokesman, on a tip off about presence of terrorists at bus stop in Wah Cantt area, the security personnel arrested four suspected terrorists while explosive material including batteries, Ball bearing and safety fuses were also recovered from their possession.
The arrested terrorists were identified as Athar Gillani, Muhammad Saddique, Habibur Rehman and Anisur Rehman. The CTD spokesman said that the terrorists were trying to smuggle the explosives to other city. Case was registered in CTD police station of Rawalpindi and investigation was started.
Menwhile, the police arrested two accused after recovery of arms and fake currency worth hundreds of thousands rupees during search of a vehicle here on Saturday. Police said that during search of a Rawalpindi bound vehicle coming from Peshawar at Naseerabad check post near Rawalpindi city, arms and currency worth Rs400,000 was recovered.
