Four Rangers injured in terror attack

Karachi—Terrorist attacked a check post of the paramilitary Rangers in Korangi area near crossing with an indigenously fabricated explosive device. In the attack, 4 personnel of the paramilitary Rangers were injured. One Ranger is in critical condition.
Soon after the attack, a heavy contingent of paramilitary Rangers and district police reached the scene and cordoned off the entire area and stared search operation during which one suspect was held for interrogation.
Besides 4 personnel injured in the attack, one motorcycle was destroyed and check post was also partially damaged.
The law enforcers had for a limited time restricted the movement of vehicular traffic. This was the third consecutive attack on paramilitary Rangers in this current month of March, 2016. Terrorist had earlier targeted one Rangers check post at Essa Nagri and one at Moti Mahal in Gulshan-e Iqbal.
The Pakistan Rangers Sindh Director General major General Bilal Akbar had reached the Rangers check post at Korangi crossing and got updates from Rangers officials on the attack.
The Rangers DG had said the attack was similar to those IEDs’ blasts that were common in gang war affected Lyari are of Karachi while it also carried a similarity of those blasts that were used by terrorist gangs.
