As many as four people have died, 3 others injured and 2 houses reported to be damaged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) during last 24 hours due to heavy showers.
According to details, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in its daily Monsoon situation report on Friday has confirmed that one person had died and another injured on August 2 as the roof of a house collapsed due to rains at village Yar Hussain Dobyan, District Swabi, KPK while in AJK due to landslide in District Haveli, death of a person was reported, adding on the same day rains caused collapse of a house in District Kotli which resulted into deaths of 2 people and injured two others.
The report claimed that no significant rainfall was reported during last 24 hours while Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast for next 24 hours predicts, ‘Mainly dry weather is expected over most parts of the country.
However isolated thunderstorm and rain is expected over the Upper Catchments of Rivers Indus, Jhelum and Chenab along with Kohat, Bannu, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore and D.G. Khan Divisions.’
It added that moderate rainfall with one or two heavy falls are expected over the upper parts of the country while temperate to heavy wind-thunderstorm and rain was expected over the upper catchments of rivers Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej from August 5.
Meanwhile, it is reported from Sukker that five people were injured when armed of two groups traded fire over dispute of ownership of piece of land here on Friday.—APP
