Four arrested for selling unhygienic meat

Rawalpindi—The police arrested four culprits after recovery of 15 maunds of unhygienic meat during a crackdown here on Thursday.
The Pirwdahi Police reacting to repeated complaints of unhygienic meat being sold in the area, conducted operation in Khyaban e Sir Syed in Rawalpindi.
During crackdown on a godown 6000 kilogram contaminated meat brought from different districts of Punjab was recovered and four accused were held.
Police said that the contaminated meat was supplied in different areas of Rawalpindi city and surroundings and some officials of livestock department were also involved in this heinous crime of playing with the health of general public.
The recovered meat was disposed of and the police after registering a case against the detainees have started the investigation.
