The foolproof arrangements should be made to combat Monsoon must be carried out devotedly in a coordinated manner of provincial agencies.
These agencies include Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Sind Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB), Divisional and District Administration and all Municipal Authorities including Cantonment Boards, DHA and all other Civic Agencies.
These views were expressed by the Chief Secretary Sindh Maj. (Retd) Azam Suleman Khan while presiding a high-level meeting regarding the strategic line of action to combat Monsoon-2018, held in Sindh Secretariat this afternoon, which was also attended by the Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar, and other senior officers. The Chief Secretary stressed the need to do the needful to eradicate the post-rain difficulties, for saving the human lives properties and cattle, in the larger national interest.
He maintained that all Deputy Commissioners being the focal persons of their districts remain actively coordinated with all the stakeholders.
Chief Secretary emphasized upon Mayor and Commissioner Karachi to ensure the acute safety arrangements for Karachi in collaboration with PDMA and Sindh Solid Waste Management Board.
He categorically noted that all Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners ensure safety arrangements at their level, while cleanliness of storm/sewerage water and disposal of solid waste should also be accorded in accordance with rules & regulation of Local Bodies and SSWMB, including other responsible institutions.
