Food Authority to be established in capital

Food Authority would be established in the Federal Capital in line with the directions of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, to ensure provision of hygienic and quality food in addition to the averting preventable food borne diseases.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Sheikh Anser Aziz expressed these views while addressing an inception workshop to mark launch of Pilot Street Food Safety Programme (PSFSP) for Islamabad at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) here on Friday. On this occasion, Patrick T. Evans, FAO representative in Islamabad, Yousaf Zafar, Chairman PARC ,Director General National Agriculture Research Center , Dr. Azeem Khan and Dr Hasan Orooj, Director General Health, Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad also attended the workshop.
