Focus on nomadic, ignored children stressed in anti-polio meeting

Zhob—District Polio Eradication Committee (DPEC) meeting ahead of Sub-national Immunization Days (SNIDs) held at circuit house here Thursday.
‘SNIDs will be commenced from April 25th which would be continued till April 27th, 2016 to ensure that each and every child below five years of age is vaccinated against polio, adding sixty five thousand including nomad children would be vaccinated during upcoming anti-polio campaign,’ they said. Deputy Commissioner elaborated that full attention should be given to nomadic population who migrates these days and missed children besides community mobilization, ensuring attendance, logistics, convincing refusals and monitoring. He also urged UC Monitoring Officers in particular while officials of the line departments in general to make the campaign a success.
Communication Officer UNICEF appreciated the efforts of polio teams in reaching the far-flung areas of the district particularly in high risk union councils.
