Five soldiers wounded in Mohmand blast

An Improvised Explosives Device (IED) blast targeting the security forces vehicle in the restive Mohmand agency on Monday reportedly left at least five soldiers seriously wounded.
Reports reaching here said the unknown terrorists targeted a group of security personnel of the para military force Frontier Corps (FC) believably with the radio controlled explosive device when they were present in the Khwaizai area of Mohmand agency.
“At least five personnel of the security forces were injured when FC vehicle was targeted with roadside bomb blast in Khwaizai area of Mohmand agency” The sources in the Political Administration of Mohmand agency said, the Inter Services Public Relations officials when contacted, however, said they were unable to confirm the incident.
The injured was soldiers were shifted to nearby military camp as one of the injured stated to be in critical condition. According to political administration, the security forces personnel were targeted when they were fetching water from the water scheme.
The security forces are also reported to have kicked off search and net operation in the area and apprehended a number of suspects.
It may be recalled that the forces have been conducting Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) all over the country especially in the tribal areas against the elements challenging the writ of the state and carrying out subversive activities and have unleashed a series of bomb blasts in various parts of the country as well as targeting the men in uniform. In the process hundreds of alleged terrorists have been mowed down during Intelligence Based ground operations as well aerial strikes.
