Five cops among six injured in Swat blast

Peshawar—An Improvised Explosives Device (IED) blast targeting men in uniform in the scenic valley of Swat on Tuesday left at least six people including five cops seriously injured.
A Police Mobile van was on its routine patrolling in Mankial area of Swat district when it was hit by a remote controlled device planted at the road side leaving six people injured including five police men and a minor.
“The blast badly damaged the police mobile van resulting in serious injuries to five cops and a child”, police official told Observer adding the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where their condition was stated to be as stable.
After the blast the security forces cordoned off the area after and started search and net operation in the area. Nakabandis were set up at various points but the culprits remained at large till.
Fear and harassment gripped the picturesque valley Swat, Bahrain and Kalam valleys which were visited by more than four hundred thousand tourists during the Eid days.
