First Lady stresses on inculcating moral values in new generation

First Lady Begum Mahmooda Mamnoon Hussain Tuesday stressed on inculcating moral values in the new generations along with focusing on their character building and imparting quality education.
She said this interacting with girl students of Islamabad Model School for Girls here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The first lady has started a series of lectures on training of girls and their religious and worldly education where students of various schools are invited and informed about their duties so that they can play their role in development and prosperity of the country.
She said Islam as a comprehensive way of life encompasses a complete moral system which not only defines morality but also guides the human race in how to achieve it at both an individual as well as collective level.
She said Islam stresses on promoting moral values and it enjoins upon Muslims to uphold moral principles of integrity, honesty, and decency.
The first lady emphasized that we could make our society ideal by following moral codes laid down by Islam.
She said one learns lessons of morality first from home and school like respecting the elders, helping the needy and being good to others and called upon parents and teachers to instil ethical values among children.
She urged the students to base their lives on the ideals of moral and religious ethics adding such interaction was an excellent source of transmitting moral values among children which would make them good human beings and good Muslims.
Begum Mahmooda Mamnoon advised the female students to understand their responsibilities and in this regard take guidance from their parents and elders, focus on their education and play such a role in their homes to nurture feelings of love and sincerity.
She further said,”We will have to make our homeland a strong and great country but this will be possible only if our children and youth understand their responsibilities and live their life in the light of the teachings of Qura’n and Sunnah.”
She also answered the questions raised by students related to the subject. Later, she mingled with the students. The students informed her about their curricular activities.
