First-ever drive-thru push carts Bazaar in city

Lahore—Commissioner Lahore Division Abdullah Khan Sumbal inaugurated the city’s first-ever drive-thru model pushcarts bazaar at Lalpul, Mughalpura area, on Wednesday.
The commissioner, accompanied by DCO Usman Younas, also visited the bazaar and inspected the quality of items, displayed at carts.
The commissioner said that the carts would not create any traffic problem as they would remain moving.
He said that initially 13 carts had been launched, with the cooperation of Akhuwat Foundation and added that the model pushcart bazaar was set up under the revolutionary vision of the CM Punjab to ensure the quality and hygiene of the food items and to beautify the city.
He said that more such bazaars would be set up across the city, which will also ease traffic flow.
Sumbal said that push carters would be monitored by the DCO office and TMA Aziz Bhatti Town for ensuring prices and quality.
Under the Commissioner’s office, a competition had been held among the UET Lahore, Punjab University Lahore, NCA, PFA, Punjab Small Industries and private firms to select seven designs of model pushcarts keeping in view price, design, durability and hygienic parameters.—APP
