Female Dolphin rescued successfully

Karachi—A joint team of WWF-Pakistan and Sindh Wildlife Department, along with the local fishermen community successfully rescued a stranded female Indus river dolphin from the Salar Tributary of Khirthar Canal located 170 km off Sukkur on Sunday. The trained rescue team of WWF-Pakistan was dispatched after the dolphin was spotted in shallow water and was carefully captured, transported in a sound proof vehicle (and constantly kept moist) until its release in the Indus River at Sukkur Barrage upstream, said a statement issued here.— APP
