Federal Ombudsman, Salman Farooqui on Sunday issued Instructions for early finalization of pension cases and introduction of pension automation system of Federal government employ-ees.
A meeting was chaired by Senior Advisor Law and Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar in Islamabad which was attended by senior officials of different ministries and divisions. Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar sought the progress by all departments on previous instructions issued by Federal Om-budsman Secretariat for streamlining the pensionary system. He directed all concerned departments especially the Finance Division and Information Technology department for early processing e-pension system.
The representative of the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR) informed that the profarma for pension cases has been simplified consisting of only two pages for self-pension as well as family pension and system would automatically pick the data of retiring employees from the online websites of the departments. He said, ‘In future notification of retirement will be issued 12 months prior to superannuation with a copy to AGPR and its alert e-mail will be issued by AGPR to the respective Welfare Officer with list of all required docu-ments within 15 days.”
Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar directed that the department will complete all pension papers within six months from the date of receipt of auto generated e-mail from AGPR and the AGPR will complete all process of pension within 21 days from the receipt of final papers and the Pension Pay Order should be ready 15 days before retirement.
