Former Chief Justice of Pakistan and the founder and president of Pakistan Justice Democratic Party (PJDP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudry has said on Saturday that FCR(Frontier Crimes Regulations) was the main cause of FATA people backwardness and miseries.
Accompanied by some office bearers of his party Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudry was warmly welcomed by the tribesmen of Landikotal where he called on tribal elders, youths, social activists and his political party workers at Sadu Khel village of Landikotal. Talking to the public gathering the former chief justice of Pakistan said that FCR was the main cause and hurdle in tribal people development.
He said FCR should be rooted out and the FATA reforms should be implemented immediately. He also demanded the government t launch construction work on Landikotal press club soon that the local journalists could carry out journalistic duty well. He expressed sorrow over the delay in building a press club for the local journalists.
He criticized the imposed political administration system in FATA and urged the government authorities to implement FATA reforms as soon as possible to consider the FATA people as real citizens of Pakistan. He said FATA people were the real defenders of Pakistan
Replying a question asked by local journalists, the former chief justice of Supreme Court said that Supreme Court of Pakistan should have decided the Panama case verdict instead to form a joint investigation team to probe into the mater.
He also suggested that tribal people should be asked whether they want to merge in Khyber Pakhtunkwa or want a separate province.
He said if his party was succeeded during the general elections in Pakistan; corruption will be rooted out from country and all the looted money will be taken back from them who robbed it.
