FBISE to keep an eye on performance of educational institutions

Recognizing the parents and students as key stakeholder, the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has introduced a new service “students and parents’ web portal” for their online feedback and to keep an eye on performance of the relevant institutions. This feedback would help FBISE and its affiliated institutions to identify the strength and weaknesses in different areas to help improve academic environment of concerned institution and overall education system, said Chairman FBISE Dr Ikram Ali Malik on Sunday.
In an exclusive talk with APP, Chairman Federal Board said that on basis of feedback score, the affiliated institutions with the board have been categorized and to be placed in ranking.
The online feedback was being received by the students and their parents in various areas like management commitment, teaching quality, infra-structure, academic environment, basic amenities and monitoring mechanism in schools affiliated with board, he added.
He said through this service the FBISE was keeping an eye on the performance of educational institution and the services being provided in these schools, he informed.
The feedback service has been initiated early on choice basis which would be declared mandatory for the parents and students in next two years, he remarked.
He said that in this pretext, two separate online questionnaires have been designed each for students and parents through whom responses have been measured using four points “Rating Scales”.—APP
