Fazl: Mumtaz Qadri has united Deobandi, Bralvi sects

Islamabad—Chief of Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazalur Rehman has said on Friday that the hanging of Mumtaz Qadri has united the Deobandis and Bralvi sects and there is no sectarian rift between different school of thoughts.
Talking to media in Parliament House, JUI chief said that religious parties are also against torture on women but the recent bill of women protection was against the spirit of Islamic teachings and the constitution. The bill should have been sent to the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), he added.
We have foiled the efforts for changes in blasphemy law during PPP tenure, Fazl said adding that Pakistan is an independent, sovereign country. Why other countries want to impose their laws on an Islamic country, he questioned.
The provincial law is an effort to break the family system of Islamic society and against the constitution of the land. Responding to media quarry Maulana Fazalur Rehman said that religious parties have continued contacts to each other and consultative meeting has been summoned to chalk out future strategy.
Maulana has summoned the meeting of all religious parties’ chiefs today (Saturday) in federal capital city Islamabad to chalk out further strategy over the current situation of the country after the hanging of Mumtaz Qadri and passage of women protection bill in Punjab Assembly.
Fazl alleged that efforts were being made to push Ulema and religious seminaries to wall.—SABAH
