Farooq briefs Aussie HC on Kashmir situation

Muzaffarabad—Australian High Commissioner Ms. Margaret Anne Adamson called on Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan here on Saturday. Matters of mutual interest, human rights violation by India in occupied Kashmir, promotion in cooperation between the two governments in education and other sectors were discussed in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that Indian forces were involved in the killing of innocent civilians and life in occupied Kashmir paralysed since 64 days due to continue curfew.
The PM said that the UN and international community should fulfill its obligation towards the Kashmiri people to ensure peaceful solution to the unfinished agenda of division of sub continent through a free and fair plebiscite.
The Prime Minister said there were vast investment opportunities in hydro power generation and tourism sectors in AJK.
Australian High Commissioner Ms. Margaret Anne Adamson expressed concern over the human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and called for peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue. She appreciated the measures taken by AJK government in different sectors.
She said that Australia will take steps for promotion of cooperation with AJK government in different sectors in order to further strengthen the bilateral relations.
