Faithful mostly sacrificed camels on 3rd day of Eid


Karachi—Faithful also slaughtered the sacrificial animals mostly camels on the third day of Eid ul Azha on Thursday in commemoration of the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
According to an estimate, 20 percent more sacrificial animals have been slaughtered on the Eid days this year as compared to the previous one.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) had made arrangements for the collection and disposal of some two million offals of the sacrificial animals, an official said.
Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan on Eid day visited various areas of the metropolis to inspect the cleanliness arrangements, especially lifting of offal of sacrificial animals.
He had expressed satisfaction at the arrangements as well as the pace of work.
A statement on Thursday said that the Governor Sindh has directed the official concerned that the offals of the sacrificial animals be lifted and disposed of at the earliest at allocated places.
He was of the view that according to the reports received, some 15 to 20 percent more sacrificial animals are being slaughtered.
He directed that after the lifting of offals of sacrificial animals, spray of insecticides should also be carried out. —APP
