Faisalabad clinch Punjab women judo title

Lahore—Faisalabad division won the title of Punjab women judo accumulating 22 points here Monday in the auditorium of Government Post Graduate College for Women.
Female judo players from Faisalabad showed all round skills and superior technique to outplay their respective opponents in all departments of the game to win the competition.
Rawalpindi secured 14 points for the runners up spot while Lahore having won 12 points got the third place followed by Sargodha with 9 points and Multan with 7 points. Bahawalpur finished at 6th place with 6 points. In the event organised by the Punjab Women Judo Association bouts were held in 36 KG, 40 KG, 44 KG, 48KG, 52 KG, 57 KG and the Open weight categories.
Teams from eight affiliated divisions of the Punjab took part in this two-day event. On the first day, a course for Referees and Judges was also conducted in which senior players were instructed in the changes that have been made in the rules of tournament Judo by the International Judo Federation.
