Lahore—Pakistan is facing a silent crisis of malnutrition that is amongst the worst in the world and has not improved for decades. This was stated by experts at media consultation organized by Scaling up Nutrition Civil Society Alliance (SUNCSA, Pak) with support of Micronutrient Initiative (MI). The event was attended by representatives of print and electronic media.
Experts said that half of population of Pakistan has been facing acute malnutrition. Vice chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Dr Fakhar Imam said that there is a dire need to aware the people about the impotence of nutrition. Coordinator Scaling up Nutrition Civil Society Alliance (SUNCSA, Pak) Dr Arshad Danish emphasized that government should focus on this issue and take practical steps to over the malnutrition.
