Exchange of delegations to strengthen Pak-Romania ties

Islamabad—Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said exchanges of the parliamentary delegations will further strengthen the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Romania.
According to a message received from Bucharest, Rumania here on Tuesday, Speaker NA Sardar Ayaz Sadiq held a meeting with his Romanian Counterpart Mr. Valeriu Zgonea at Parliament House.
On the invitation of Mr. Valeriu Zgonea, the Speaker NA called his visit to Romania as part of Pakistan’s outreach to build broad-based, substantive and long-term relations with Romanian legislature.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq is the first Pakistani Speaker National Assembly to visit Romania and he stated the visit is being undertaken to initiate a new era of vibrant Pak-Romania relations.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan share the grief of European citizens who lost their lives in recent wave of terror attacks in France and Belgium. He termed terrorism, a threat to the global peace and called for coordinated efforts to eradicate terrorism.
The Speaker strongly underlined the need for expansion and diversification of Parliamentary and commercial relations. He invited the Romanian investors to take advantage of huge investment opportunities in Pakistan.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq invited Romanian Speaker Mr. Valeriu Zgonea to Pakistan and underlined the need for frequent bilateral exchange of Parliamentary delegations for further strengthening Pak-Romania relations. He added that relation with Romania is a stepping stone for Pakistan’s broader outreach to European Union.
Condemning recent suicide attack in Lahore, Romanian Speaker Mr.Valeriu Zgonea remarked: “We are with Pakistanis; cruelty against innocent citizens mustn’t go unpunished”.
He added that Romania acknowledges Pakistan’s contribution in global efforts for eradication of terror.
Reiterating commitment to enriching bilateral relations, Mr. Valeriu Zgonea added that Romania also values its relations with Pakistan and wants to strengthen them through cooperation in diverse sectors.
He urged for greater partnership between Pakistan and Romania for cementing regional stability and tackling global challenges.—INP
