Exact approach sought to resolve terror issues

Peshawar—Joint opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Monday asked the PTI-led coalition government in the province for adopting serious approach for the resolution of terrorism and other law and order related issues.
The parliamentary leaders of the joint opposition parties were participated in the single-point of agenda of law and order in KP Assembly with Deputy Speaker, Dr. Meher Taj Roghani in the chair. The Leader of Opposition, Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman in his opening remarks attributed the recent terrorism incidents in Bacha Khan University (BKU), Shabqadar (Charsadda) and bomb ex-plosion in the bus carrying government employees, spoke of the senselessness of the provincial government.
He said that on the issue of terrorism, the opposition has fully supported the government and it should have taken the credit of the resolution of the issue. But, he said that extortion, target killing, kidnapping for ransom and crimes against women are rampant in the province while the government taking the credit of depoliticizing of police. The opposition leader identified lawlessness as real problem of the province and it should be resolved on priority basis.
He said that economic-uplift is linked with peace and due to lack of the provision of protection businessmen and these people are leaving the province. The parliamentary leader of PML-N, Sardar Aurangzeb Nalotha said that terrorism is a national issue, which had claimed thousands of lives for the last 14 to 15 years period. He said that in the elections of 2013, they brought change by voting PML-N in centre and PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into power to resolve this problem.
He said that terrorism, target killing and kidnapping for ransom were at height in the province, the people of the province were hopeful that the PTI government will restore peace. He said that nation and all political parties are united over the issue, which was also manifested in the All Parties Conference (APC). He said that federal and provincial governments are duty bound for provision of protection to the people.
However, he said that empty seats of the treasury benches spoke of the non-seriousness of the provincial government. He said that Speaker and electorates of the province should take notice of it. He asked the government to exhibit seriousness about the issue. The PML-N legislator said that opposition has extended full support to the government over the issue.—APP
