Ex-MPA, 2 relatives shot dead, 4 killed in accidents

Firing of unknown assailant’s left three people dead including JUI-F activist former MPA Malik Hasham Khan and his cousin here at Tazagram area on Thursday evening, police said. Slain Malik Hasham, his cousin Malik Ajab Khan and Zarin Bakht were on their way back after attending a funeral when their car was ambushed by the unknown gunmen in Tazagram area. The killers spread the car with bullets injuring all the four passengers.
All the four injured were rushed to the hospital, however, three of them succumbed their injuries before having any medical treatment while the driver is admitted in precarious condition. Reason behind tripled murder is stated to be old enmity. Malik Hasham was elected to the Member KP Assembly in 1997 general election on PML-N ticket.
It is also reported that four people were killed and 12 sustained injuries in separate road accident in Kalah Kahar and Bhakkar. The first incident occurred at motorway near Salt Range Kalar Kahar where a trailer overturned due to break fail, private news channel reported.
Three people died on the spot whereas one succumbed to injuries in the hospital. The deceased have been identified as Mehboob, Shafique, Mohmand Khan and Abid. According to detials, the trailer was enroute to Okara from Wah Cantt while carrying ammunition for army.
Police and army personnel surrounded the area after the accident and shifted the bodies to Kalar Kahar hospital. On the other hand, at least 12 people were wounded when a bus carrying pilgrims from Jhang to Iran overturned near Bhakkar.—APP
