Epidemic of Chickenguniya

The recent outbreak of Chikungunya has wrapped the entire village of Kohi Goth, located in Malir. According to reliable sources, around ten people have been killed and more than 1700 are estimated to have been fallen prey to this life threatening disease. Almost 90 percent of members of every family in the village are suffering from this deadly disease.
The non-availability of relevant medicines at the nearest hospitals is even deteriorating the situation. The sufferings of the residents have so far not successfully accessed the concerned authorities. However, a medical camp has been set up by the youth of the area. Government and NGOs which claim to have been working for the safety of people from the deadly diseases haven’t possibly made it to the village yet.
Most of people residing in the area live below poverty line and can hardly make their both ends meet. Therefore, they find it hard to make it to the private hospitals. More causalities are expected to take place if the patients are left unattended. It is high time the provincial government and NGO’s, come forward to ensure wellbeing of the patients and alleviate their sufferings.
