EPA takes action against violators for clean environment

Rawalpindi—Environment Protection Agency (EPA) in its effort for keeping environment clean, registered FIR’s against eight persons as they were found selling black polythene bags.
Talking to mediamen, District Officer EPA Muhammad Azhar Iqbal said under the Protection Ordinance 2012, there is complete ban on sale and purchase of black polythene bags and the Agency is inspecting markets on daily basis.
He informed that during the last five days EPA has registered FIR’s against 16 hospitals administration for not properly disposing of waste while 16 vehicles were challaned for emitting poisonous smoke.—APP
