End polio in Balochistan

It is very clear to everyone that government is trying its best to eliminate polio in the Province of Balochistan. According to the Health Department of Balochistan, around 850,000 children below the age of five years would be administered polio vaccine in Quetta, Turbat, Gawdar, Pasni and other 32 district of the Province.
Security was tightened in Turbat and other districts keeping in view the past attacks on polio vaccination teams in Balochistan while polio and levies personnel provide security to the team. Health Department has told that Balochistan government has decided to administer polio drops to children in all thirty two districts of the province.
Six new cases of polio virus have been detected in Turbat and other parts of the Province this year. Balochistan remained polio free for last sixteen months owing to the joint efforts of the Provincial Health Department, UNICEF and WHO. Sources in Health Department have stated that refusal was a major problem behind the recent cases in the Province. So concerned authorities and Health Department are requested to provide more and more polio vaccination to exterminate polio from every inch of Pakistan.
